AGRANA acquires Danish fruit juice concentrates and fruit juice manufacturer Val

AGRANA today acquired a 99 per cent stake in fruit juice and fruit juice
concentrates manufacturer Vallo Saft A/S, Denmark. The stake was sold by Danish
investment funds and private shareholders of Vallo Saft.
The company has two production sites located in Vallo, Denmark, and Lipnik,
Poland. They make roughly 20,000 metric tons of fruit juice and fruit juice
concentrates a year for the food and beverage industries. Vallo Saft
specializes in the manufacture of high-quality juices from berries, cherries and
apples. It is one of Europe’s leading suppliers to industrial customers in
this segment.
The company recorded revenues of roughly EUR 38 million with 100 employees
during 2002.
This acquisition is a continuation of AGRANA’s strategy of processing
agricultural raw materials at the primary stage. It is subject to the approval
of the pertinent antitrust authorities.
