The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– The AGRANA Group has closed its 2002/03 financial year with further increases in revenues and earnings. The financial statements for 2002/03 were drawn up in conformity with IAS. The 2002/03 financial year ended on 28 February 2003 with the following provisional figures: 2002/03 2001/02 +/- EUR mn EUR mn EUR mn % Revenues 875.7 842.8 + 32.9 +3.9% Operating profit 80.5 76.0 + 4.5 +5.9% Profit before tax 87.2 64.1 + 23.1 +36.0% Consolidated earnings for the year 65.4 44.3 + 21.1 +47.6% The increase in revenues of EUR 32.9 million was in part also attributable to the 14-month financial years of the AGRANA International companies, whose balance-sheet dates were brought into line with the consolidated groups balance- sheet date (last day of February). The determined pursuit of ongoing restructuring, rationalization and cost-optimization programmes throughout the group made an important contribution to our pleasing profit growth.
