Bakkafrost has via its 100% owned subsidiary Havsbrún,
purchased a further 41.15% in Hanstholm
Fiskemelsfabrik. Following the acquisition the
shareholder structure in Hanstholm Fiskemelsfabrik is
as follow:
Bakkafrost: 81.01%
Minority shareholders: 13,73%
Treasury shares: 5.26%
Minority shareholder will be able to sell their 13.73%
of the shares in the company.
The investment is a strategic investment and part of
the consolidation of the fishmeal and fish oil
industry, which Bakkafrost will be part of.
Hanstholm Fiskemelsfabrik is a fishmeal and fish oil
producer in Hanstholm in Denmark. The company sourced
in 100,000 tonnes of pelagic fish in 2013 for
production of fish meal and fish oil. Hanstholm
Fiskemelsfabrik had a financial loss of DKK 18 million
in 2013. The total assets amounts to DKK 157 million
and the equity was DKK 40 million.
