RESULTS FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2001/2002 Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– In view of the difficult economic environment AT&S was able to achieve satisfactory results in the first six months of fiscal year 2001/2002. Total revenues in the first half-year of 2001/2002 amounted to Euro 135 million, which represents a drop of 8.3% in comparison to the first half-year of 2000/2001, gross profit margin amounted to 13.7% after 23.0% in the previous year. EBIT, EBITDA and Earnings per Share for the first half of fiscal year 2001/2002 and compared to the first half-year of 2000/2001 were as follows: EBIT Euro 7.6 million after Euro 23.8 million in the previous year EBIT margin 5.6% after 16.1% in the previous year EBITDA Euro 26.2 million after Euro 37.1 million in the previous year EBITDA margin 19.4% after 25.2% in the previous year Earnings per Share Euro 0.16 after Euro 0.60 in the previous year In the second quarter of the current fiscal year revenues were up by 13% compared to the first quarter, compared to the second quarter of the previous business year the increase was 1.6%. EBIT margin was up 88% in the second quarter compared to the first quarter of the current fiscal year. In general a positive trend with improving capacity utilisation was identified. Full year results will heavily depend on Christmas sales and the overall economic climate. Visibility remains on a low level. Due to the lack of customer feedback more exact guidance for the fiscal year is currently not feasible.
