PROLONGATION OF SHARE REPURCHASE PROGRAMME Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– A resolution passed by the 7th Annual General Meeting on July 5, 2001 authorized the Management Board to buy back up to 2,800,000 shares or 10 % of the issued capital of Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik AG during a period of 18 months beginning on the day the resolution was passed. In October 2001 the Management Board of AT&S AG decided to make use of this authorization. At that time the Share Repurchase Programme was implemented for the period of October 18, 2001 to April 17, 2002 and will now be extended until January 5, 2003. 813,700 shares where repurchased during the period from January 14, 2002 to February 26, 2002 at a weighted average price of 11.5649 Euro per share. This corresponds to approximately 2.9 % of the issued capital of AT&S AG. Shares repurchased are planned to be used primarily for the purpose of fulfilling the Company’s long-term Employee Incentive Plan or in the context of future acquisitions. As in the past repurchases will be made from time-to-time, at the Company’s discretion, and subject to market conditions, and may be finally or temporarily suspended without prior notice. According to the Rule Book of the Neuer Markt all transactions done within five trading days will be published within a maximum of three trading days. The resolution of the Annual General Meeting and the decision of the Management Board to start the Repurchase Programme were duly published on October 12, 2001 in the Wiener Zeitung and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
