The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— AT&S AG, Vienna, Austria, 3 March 2005 The management of AT&S Austria Technologie und Systemtechnik AG decided on 2 March 2005 to move the production of printed circuit boards from the works at Fohnsdorf, Austria, to the parent plant at Leoben-Hinterberg. The Supervisory Board should approve this decision in its meeting on 16 March 2005. This decision reduces the number of production sites in Austria from four to three. Since October 2003, AT&S has only been renting the works at Fohnsdorf. At present, we do not expect to have to make any of our employees redundant as a result of this relocation of our production work or due to our current operations. The costs of this relocation will amount to EUR 5.8 millions altogether and will be accounted as provisions for the current financial year. The financial result of AT&S for the current financial year, which ends on 31 March, will therefore be reduced by 0.15 Euro per share. The annual savings from this pooling of production facilities will amount to approximately EUR 3 millions. In the financial year in which this relocation will take place (2005/06), savings in the order of approximately EUR 600,000 are already expected. The activities of the works at Fohnsdorf will be continued as separate production work in the plant at Hinterberg, which has enough space for this. As part of our niche strategy for our European factories, targeted investments will be made to bring this production into line with the latest technological developments for prototypes and quick turnaround business.
