AT&S AG, Vienna, Austria, 7 June 2005
AT&S Austria Technologie und Systemtechnik AG, Europe’s largest producer of
printed circuit boards and supplier for mobile phone producers Nokia, Sony-
Ericsson, Motorola, RIM as well as Siemens, does not reckon with immediate and
significant effects on its running business after today’s announcement of the
sale of Siemens mobile phone unit to BenQ. The loading of all AT&S plants is
presently excellent due to strong growth in the mobile phone business.
Forecasts of the customers of AT&S seem to confirm this trend through the full
year.
In the latest quarter, the Siemens Com business represented 11,6% of total
AT&S revenues. The ongoing production as well as already planned ramp-ups are,
from today’s point of view to be carried out as foreseen. Within the next
months AT&S will not only deliver its printed circuit boards in best quality
and with the highest reliability to Siemens but will also try to gain BenQ as
a customer for variety of products in addition to mobile phones.
The Management of AT&S is evaluating the possible long term effects of ongoing
developments within Siemens/BenQ and will be in further contact with its
Management. Pending these developments timely and precise information will be
released promptly. From today’s point of view, however, the development with
Siemens/BenQ represents an opportunity for AT&S to gain another ambitious
Asian customer.
