Corporate-news announcement sent by DGAP. The plant will have an annual capacity of 330,000 metric tons and is scheduled to go on line in the summer of 2007, on the site of an existing plant. The overall investment volume is about EUR 175 million, to be funded by a project financing scheme. EVN will operate the plant until 2019, after which ownership will pass to the City of Moscow. The contract still needs to be approved by the EVN Supervisory Board. Due to the high grate temperatures (in excess of 1,000°C) and a state-of-the-art flue gas cleaning system, controlled incineration destroys or filters out pollutants such as lead, chlorine, cadmium and fluorine, which renders the residual waste harmless and easy to dispose of without any risk to the environment. Emulating the thermal waste utilisation plant operated by AVN at Zwentendorf/Dürnrohr in Lower Austria since the start of 2004, the Moscow plant will use the steam generated to produce electricity and heat. Dr. Rudolf Gruber, CEO of EVN: “The EVN Group has at its disposal highly specialised know-how in the infrastructure fields of energy, water and thermal waste treatment, all of which yield interesting business perspectives both in Austria and abroad.” Through its fully owned subsidiary WTE, EVN is operating two sewage disposal facilities in Moscow and is currently constructing a potable water treatment plant for the City. WTE is also active in the potable water and sewage sectors in altogether eleven European countries. end of message, (c)DGAP 20.04.2004 ——————————————————————————– WKN: 074105; ISIN: AT0000741053; Index: ATX Listed: Amtlicher Handel in Wien; Amtlicher Markt in Frankfurt (General Standard, WKN 878279) und München; Freiverkehr in Berlin-Bremen und Stuttgart 201005 Apr 04
