The Governing Board of Malta International Airport AG will appoint Peter Bolech,
49, as Chief Executive Officer.
Bolech is a member of the management team of the Vienna International Airport
Group, and was previously managing director of the Spanish subsidiary VIE
España. Bolech joined the company as a business unit head in 1994 after serving
as managing director of Austrian Air Services, a former regional subsidiary of
Austrian Airlines. At Vienna International Airport his responsibilities included
airline marketing, expansion of the terminals, and tariff policy. Bolech played
a major role in the dynamic transformation of Vienna International Airport into
the key hub between West and East Europe. During his time in office, the share
of transfer passengers rose from 20.9% to 31.9%.
With Bolech, the Vienna International Airport Group is sending one of its best
and most experienced managers to Malta. Bolech commented that he is looking
forward to this new challenge because “Malta International Airport is a very
well-managed company with highly motivated employees.” He is convinced that the
airport has a significant potential for development because of its geographical
position.
