Corporate News | Press Release Vienna, 28 September 2012 IMMOFINANZ Group: Silesia City Center ranked among the top shopping centers in Poland On 19 September 2012 the Polish Association of Retail Tenants and GfK Polonia Institut published a new ranking of Polish shopping centers. The Silesia City Center was rated first in the categories 'attractiveness of tenant mix' and 'marketing activities'. It also outpaced most of the competition to place second in the overall ranking. Retail tenants across Poland were recently surveyed by GfK Polonia Institut to select the best shopping centers in the country. The category 'attractiveness of tenant mix' focused on the offering of stores and brands in the various facilities. With over 310 shops and an outstanding – for the Silesian region of southern Poland in part exclusive – selection of brands, the Silesia City Center clearly outdistanced the competition. The center's 'marketing activities' were also rated excellent by the survey participants, not least as a result of the spectacular visit by Paris Hilton at the opening of the center extension in autumn 2011. The Silesia City Center – a success story The overall ranking of the best shopping centers in Poland placed the Silesia City Center in direct competition with top shopping centers in Lodz, Warsaw and Krakow – and resulted in an impressive second place. 'The decisive factors for the success of the Silesia City Center include the popular extension in 2011, the growing number of tenants and high visitor frequency', explained Eduard Zehetner, CEO of IMMOFINANZ Group. 'We are extremely pleased over this latest award for the Silesia City Center , which also confirms the course we have set for Poland. In this core market we are working to develop successful high-quality shopping centers – and our next major step will be the realisation of a new project in Lublin. ' Large selection of brand stores The Silesia City Center is the largest and most modern facility of its kind in Katowice, the heart of the economic region of Upper Silesia. The center increased to 86,000 sqm with the opening of the extension in October 2011 and is now home to over 310 stores, including brand stores by La Mania, GAP and Starbucks. These tenants were recently joined by well-known international brands like Calvin Klein Jeans, Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger, Weekend by Max Mara, Marc O'Polo and Van Graaf. This shopping center stands out from the competition, not least with well-known shops like ZARA, Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius, Pull and Bear, Bershka as well as the largest H&M store in southern Poland. Growing number of visitors The Silesia City Center enjoys high, steadily growing popularity not only with tenants, but also with visitors. The number of visitors has risen by 25% since the opening of the extension in October 2011, making this facility an attraction for over 15 million people per year.
