Desktop, seit über 10 Jahren am englischen Markt vertreten, ergänzt die bisherigen CENIT Aktivitäten in Großbritannien in idealer Weise. Desktop beschäftigt sich unter anderem mit der Anwendung webbasierender SoftwareTools für Wissens-Management. Beliebige Quellen, wie beispielsweise das Internet, werden dabei von intelligenten Suchrobotern nach verwertbarem Wissen durchsucht. Dieses steht anschließend in einer unternehmensweiten Intranet-Datenbank zur Verfügung. “Das Know-how und die Kundenbeziehungen von Desktop stärken unsere Marktposition in UK entscheidend. Mit insgesamt zwei Niederlassungen decken wir Großbritannien jetzt räumlich sehr gut ab”, so Falk Engelmann, Vorstandssprecher der CENIT AG Systemhaus. “Nicht nur im Vertrieb unserer Produkte, sondern vor allem in der Ausweitung unseres Dienstleistungsgeschäfts verfügen wir künftig über eine wesentlich breitere Basis.” Bis zum Jahresende werden rund 60 Mitarbeiter in UK für CENIT tätig sein und einen Umsatz von zirka 7 Millionen Euro erwirtschaften. Nach der Gründung einer Tochtergesellschaft in der Schweiz zu Beginn des Jahres, setzt die CENIT AG Systemhaus mit dieser Übernahme ihre Internationalisierung fort. ————————————————————- ————————————————————- CENIT continues its internationalisation drive CENIT AG Systemhaus will be taking over 100 % of the British IT distribution company and service provider, Desktop Engineering. Desktop, which has been present on the English market for over ten years now, complements CENIT’s activities in Great Britain ideally. Among other things, Desktop is involved in the application of Web based software tools for knowledge management. Intelligent search robots search any number of sources, such as the Internet for instance, for usable information. This information is then made available as a corporate intranet knowlegdebase. “Desktop’s know-how and customer base will strengthenour market position in the UK decisively. “With a total of two branches, we can cover the whole of Great Britain very well”, says Falk Engelmann, spokesman for the board of management at CENIT AG Systemhaus. “In future, not only we will have a significantly broader basis for distributing our products, but first and foremost for expanding our services business.” By the end of the year, around 60 employees will be active for CENIT in the UK, achieving revenue of approximately EUR 7 million. After founding a subsidiary company in Switzerland at the beginning of the year, the present takeover is the next step in CENIT’s internationalisation drive.
