Für den Inhalt der Mitteilung ist allein der Emittent verantwortlich. —————————————————————————— Starkes Wachstum und Internationalisierung Im ersten Geschaeftshalbjahr 2000 hat die CENIT AG ihr Ziel, ein global operierendes Systemhaus zu werden, verwirklicht. “Nach unseren Akquisitionen in Grossbritannien, Frankreich und Nordamerika sind wir nun weltweit der groesste CAD/CAM- Systemintegrator” beschrieb Vorstandssprecher Falk Engelmann die neue Position des Unternehmens. Die weltweite Praesenz und dabei vor allem die Chancen auf dem weltgroessten IT-Markt USA moechte die CENIT AG, so Engelmann, auch nutzen, um das neue Geschaeftssegment e-business mit Nachdruck zu entwickeln. Zusaetzlich zum Angebot rund um die Produkte von Intershop hat CENIT jetzt auch Projekte auf der Basis der SAPPlattform mysap.com im Visier. Mit dem Geschaeftsverlauf im 2. Quartal 2000 ist der CENIT Vorstand in weiten Teilen zufrieden. Das erste Geschaeftshalbjahr hat CENIT mit gutem Wachstum abgeschlossen. Der Umsatz stieg auf 44,73 Mio. EUR um 31% (Vorjahr: 34,22 Mio. EUR). Der Rohertrag wuchs im Berichtszeitraum im Vergleich zum Vorjahr um 8,47 Mio. EUR auf 25,79 Mio. EUR und damit um 49%. Akquisitionsbereinigt stieg der Umsatz auf 37,08 Mio. EUR und der Rohertrag auf 22,02 Mio. EUR (Vorjahr: 17,31 Mio. EUR). Der Rueckgang des operativen Ergebnisses (EBIT) auf minus 0,37 Mio. EUR (Vorjahr: 1,23 Mio. EUR) begruendet sich wesentlich durch die Vorgaben aus dem 1.Quartal. Die Mitarbeiterzahl von CENIT stieg in Deutschland gegenueber dem Vorjahr von 391 auf 461. Die Belegschaft des gesamten CENIT- Konzerns wuchs durch die neuen Auslandstoechter auf 808. “Das Geschaeft der neuen CENIT-Gesellschaften in Frankreich und Nordamerika waechst, ebenso in Deutschland. Deshalb werden wir zum Jahresende an die 900 Mitarbeiter haben” prognostizierte Engelmann das weitere Wachstum. Neue Auftraege meldete das Unternehmen in Deutschland von der Volkswagen AG, in der Schweiz von der CoopGruppe, in Frankreich vom PSA-Konzern sowie dem Airbus-Konsortium. Juengst habe man in Nordamerika mit dem SportartikelHersteller ITECH einen Kunden im ConsumerGeschaeft gewinnen koennen, berichtete das Unternehmen. Aufgrund der guten Auftragslage sowie der wieder anziehenden Hardware-Nachfrage geht CENIT optimistisch in das zweite Geschaeftshalbjahr. “Zusaetzliche Impulse fuer die Gesamtkonjunktur sehen wir in der jetzt verabschiedeten Steuerreform” sagte Engelmann. Im Herbst diesen Jahres plant CENIT zusammen mit anderen am Neuen Markt notierten Unternehmen seine weiteren Geschaeftsplaene auf einer Analystenkonferenz bekanntzugeben. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Steep growth and globalisation In the first half of fiscal 2000, CENIT AG achieved its goal of becoming a systems provider with global operations. “After our acquisitions in the UK, France and North America, we are now the biggest CAD/CAM system integrator worldwide,” was how Falk Engelmann, spokesman for the board of management, described the company’s position. CENIT wants to take advantage of its world-wide presence, and especially the opportunities offered by the world’s biggest IT market, the USA, says Mr. Engelmann, to develop its new business segment ebusiness energetically. In addition to providing products of Intershop, CENIT now also has projects on the basis of SAP platform mysap.com in sight. The board of management is quite pleased with the business development. CENIT closed the first halfyear with a good rate of growth. Sales revenue rose by 31% to 44.73 million EUR (1999: 34.22 million EUR). Gross profit rose within the reported period by 49% being 8.47 million EUR to 25.79 million EUR. Adjusted for acquisitions sales rose to 37.8 million EUR and gross profit to 22.02 million EUR (1999: 17.31 million EUR). The decline in operating earnings (EBIT) to minus 0.37 million EUR (1999: 1.23 million EUR) is essentially attributable to the allegation of the first quarter. CENIT’s workforce in Germany rose from 391 last year to 461. The new subsidiaries abroad boosted the number of employees in the CENIT group as a whole to 808. “Business is growing for the new CENIT companies in France and North America and in Germany too. We shall therefore have a staff of about 900 by the end of the year” was Mr Engelmann’s forecast of future growth. A very good backlog of orders The company reported new orders in Germany from Volkswagen AG, in Switzerland from the Coop group, in France from the PSA group and the Airbus consortium. Recently, the company succeeded in winning the sporting goods manufacturer ITECH as a new customer in the consumer sector in North America. Thanks to its good backlog of orders and with demand for hardware picking up, CENIT is optimistic as it starts the second half of the fiscal year. “We see additional stimulation of the economy as a whole coming from the tax reform law which has just been passed in Germany,” said Mr Engelmann.
