Verbund, Austria's largest electricity utility announces Christian Kern's
demission as member of the company's management board. From June 2010 he is
appointed CEO of Österreichische Bundesbahnen AG (ÖBB) the Austrian Federal
Railway company.

Since May 11, 2007, Christian Kern has been responsible board member for
international M&A, international equity management and development and the
transmission grid.

Christian Kern's responsibilities are temporarily administered by the other
board members Wolfgang Anzengruber (CEO), Johann Sereinig (Deputy CEO) and
Ulrike Baumgartner-Gabitzer (Member of the Board).

The Supervisory Board of Verbund is going to decide upon the procedures
following Christian Kern's demission.
