Mit dieser Übernahme erfolgt ein weiterer Schritt in Richtung Forcierung der Weiterverarbeitungsaktivitäten besonders in Richtung Automobilindustrie. Synergien ergeben sich in diesem Bereich vor allem aus der ähnlichen Kundenstruktur beider Unternehmen. Für die VOEST-ALPINE STAHL LINZ GmbH und die VOEST-ALPINE KREMS GmbH, die selbst Sonder-Formrohre herstellt, stellt der Erwerb von ROTEC eine hervorragende Ergänzung dar. Die ROTEC Gruppe ist spezialisiert auf die Fertigung von Präzisionsstahlrohren und deren Weiterverarbeitung zu einbaufertigen Rohrprodukten. Rund 60 Prozent der Produkte gehen in die Automobil- bzw. Automobilzulieferindustrie u.a. für Achsen, Federelemente, Aufhängungen oder Gurtstraffer. Die Produktions- und Vertriebsgesellschaften befinden sich in Deutschland, Österreich, Frankreich, Spanien, Schweden und Belgien. Im laufenden Jahr wird die ROTEC-Gruppe rund 90 Mio Euro (1,2 Mrd ATS) Umsatz erzielen, das operative Ergebnis beläuft sich auf rund 6,5 % des Umsatzes. Für die nächsten Jahre sind bei Umsatz und Ergebnis deutliche Steigerungen geplant. VOEST-ALPINE STAHL Group purchases the successful tube producer ROTEC VOEST-ALPINE STAHL LINZ GmbH, a company of the listed VOEST- ALPINE STAHL AG, is to take over the tube producer ROTEC. This acquisition represents a further step towards an intensification of further processing activities, particularly with regard to the automotive industry. Synergy effects will primarily result from the similar customer structures especially towards to the automotive industry of the two companies. For VOEST-ALPINE STAHL LINZ GmbH and VOEST-ALPINE KREMS GmbH, which itself produces special tubes, the purchase of ROTEC represents an excellent addition. The ROTEC group is specialised in the production of precision tubes and their further processing into ready to install tubular products. Some 60% of company production goes to the automotive and automotive sub-supplier industries, for articles such as axles, springs, suspensions and safety belt mechanisms, etc. The Group possesses production and sales companies in Germany, from where it is managed, as well as in Austria, France, Spain, Sweden and Belgium. In the current year, the ROTEC Group will have sales of some EUR 90 million (ATS 1.2 billion) and an operating result amounting to about 6.5 % of this figure.
