COPEINCA ASA - 2012 FIRST FISHING SEASON RESULTS
In reference to the announcement released on 10 April, 2012 regarding the first
fishing season 2012. Copeinca successfully completed its first fishing season's
quota.
Total capture was around 2,600,000 MT, which represents around 96.4% of the
total quota. The Company processed 15.5% of the total Peruvian quota, of which
10.7% came from own fleet and 4.8% from third parties.
Copeinca produced 93,800 MT of fishmeal and 25,800 MT of fish oil.
Fishmeal production had a 23.47% yield while fish oil production had a 6.46%
yield. The total production yield was 29.93%.
"We are very pleased to have successfully completed the first fishing season of
2012. It was definitely not the easiest fishing season in terms of operations,
due to the impact of a strong Kelvin Wave, which resulted on finding the biomass
deeper, as well as fishing bans and closing of ports during approximately 22
days, but we are proud to say we were able to overcome these difficulties and
