The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– GERICOM: successful European expansion – record order backlog of more than EUR 100m – increase in notebook pieces of more than 100% in the fourth quarter 2001 expected Linz, September 21, 2001: GERICOM AG, which is listed on the “New Market” in Frankfurt (WKN 565 773), is facing the approaching fourth quarter with a great sense of optimism, due primarily to record order backlog of over EUR 100 million. In the coming seven weeks alone, some 62,000 notebooks will be delivered to Germany, Austria, the UK, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal and Greece. As compared with last year, this represents an increase in order backlog of notebook pieces of around 138% (2000: around 26,000 notebooks). Especially pleasing is the fact that European expansion outside the key German and Austrian markets is progressing more rapidly than planned. It is likely that a further 70,000 notebooks will be sold in Europe by the end of the year. Therefore GERICOM expects an increase in notebook pieces in the fourth quarter of more than 100% compared with the previous year (fourth quarter 2000: 52,224 pieces).
