On January 27, 2010, we were notified by Goldman Sachs International,
London, U.K., pursuant to section 21 of the German Securities Trading Act
(Wertpapierhandelsgesetz, 'WpHG') of the following:
1. On January 12, 2010, the holding of voting rights of Goldman Sachs
International, London, U.K., in Continental AG, Vahrenwalder Str. 9, 3001
Hannover, had exceeded the thresholds of 3% and 5% of the voting rights and
amounted to 6.15% (12,306,298 voting rights).
2. On January 12, 2010, the holding of voting rights of Goldman Sachs
Holdings (U.K.), London, U.K., Goldman Sachs Group Holdings (U.K.), London,
U.K., and Goldman Sachs (U.K.) L.L.C., Wilmington, United States, in
Continental AG by each of the aforementioned entities exceeded the
threshold of 3% and 5% of the voting rights and amounted to 6.15%
(12,306,298 voting rights). 12,306,298 of the voting rights were attributed
to the aforementioned entities pursuant to section 22 para. 1 sentence 1
no. 1 WpHG.
3. On January 12, 2010, the holding of voting rights of The Goldman Sachs
Group, Inc., New York, United States, in Continental AG by the
aforementioned entity exceeded the threshold of 3% and 5% of the voting
rights and amounted to 6.16% (12,311,347 voting rights). 12,311,347 of the
voting rights were attributed to the aforementioned entity pursuant to
section 22 para. 1 sentence 1 no. 1 WpHG.
4. On January 14, 2010, the holding of voting rights of Goldman Sachs
International in Continental AG fell below the thresholds of 5% and 3% and
amounted to 1.02% of the voting rights (2,045,705 voting rights).
5. On January 14, 2010, the holding of voting rights of Goldman Sachs
Holdings (U.K.), Goldman Sachs Group Holdings (U.K.) and Goldman Sachs
(U.K.) L.L.C. in Continental AG by each of the aforementioned entities fell
below the threshold of 5% and 3% and amounted to 1.02% of the voting rights
(2,045,705 voting rights). 2,045,705 of the voting rights were attributed
to the aforementioned entity pursuant to section 22 para. 1 sentence 1 no.
1 WpHG.
6. On January 14, 2010, the holding of voting rights of The Goldman Sachs
Group, Inc. in Continental AG by the aforementioned entity fell below the
threshold of 5% and 3% and amounted to 1.24% of the voting rights
(2,475,754 voting rights). 2,475,754 of the voting rights were attributed
to the aforementioned entity pursuant to section 22 para. 1 sentence 1 no.
1 WpHG.

London, United Kingdom; which in turn is controlled by Goldman Sachs Group
Holdings (U.K.), London, United Kingdom; which in turn is controlled by
Goldman Sachs (U.K.)L.L.C., Wilmington, United States; which in turn is
controlled by The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., New York, United States.
