The Packaging Division of the CPH Group is to acquire the LOG Pharma company, which has production sites in Israel and Hungary. The purchase of this manufacturer of complementary packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical and medicine industry marks the next step in the CPH Group’s expansion strategy. In acquiring LOG Pharma, the CPH Group will also establish its own presence in the attractive Eastern European pharmaceutical packaging market.
Perlen, 4 December 2024 – Perlen Packaging, the Packaging Division of the CPH Group, is to acquire the LOG Pharma company with its production sites in Israel and Hungary. LOG Pharma manufactures packaging solutions with high barrier properties against oxygen and water vapour to ensure the safe and secure packaging of both solid and liquid pharmaceutical and medicinal products. LOG Pharma pursues a growth strategy, and generated revenues of CHF 26 million and an EBITDA of CHF 2.7 million for 2023. The company has a workforce of approx. 245 employees, of whom 130 are based in Israel and 115 in Hungary. The parties have agreed not to divulge the purchase price. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025.
The CPH Group is aware of the current tense political situation in Israel and has thoroughly discussed and evaluated the opportunities and risks with regard to this acquisition. After careful consideration, the Board of Directors has come to the conclusion that the transaction should be implemented as planned, as the opportunities for the further development of Perlen Packaging in line with the strategy justify taking the existing risks.
In acquiring LOG Pharma and thereby establishing its own presence in Israel and Hungary, the CPH Group is further expanding its global market position in growth regions value proposition to Pharma packaging. The acquisition adds the complementary primary pharmaceutical packagings of bottles and containers to the Perlen Packaging product range. “The CPH Group is focused worldwide on attractive niche markets with above-average growth potential,” says Group CEO Dr. Peter Schildknecht. “With the purchase of LOG Pharma, we are consistently further pursuing the expansion strategy of the Packaging Division. The integration of LOG Pharma with our Packaging Division should also enable us to utilize market synergies with our existing packaging business.”
