CTS EVENTIM AG takes over ShowSoft GmbH
Leading European provider of software for ticket management systems /
Prestigious clients at home and abroad / 12 million tickets for cultural and
sports events
Munich 15 May 2001. CTS EVENTIM AG, the leading enterprise in the sale of
tickets for concerts, theatrical and sporting events as well as promoter of live
entertainment, is set to make a 100% take over of ShowSoft GmbH, Bremen. The
acquisition will take place on 15 June, subject to Due Diligence, which is
expected to be completed by then.
ShowSoft GmbH, a subsidiary of messerknecht-meister informationssysteme GmbH
(Bremen), is one of the leading European software providers for ticket
management systems in the fields of culture and sport. The company develops and
markets the most modern technological solution for in-house and internet
ticketing which currently sells 12 million tickets annually. ShowSofts customers
include the most prestigious German theatres, concert halls and opera houses,
and amongst others the Philharmonische Orchester in Berlin, the Bayerische
Staatstheater München and the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg work with the
ShowSoft GmbH software. In addition, the company is represented with
installations in the Netherlands and Austria, for example at the Bregenz
Festival. Also in the sports sector CTS EVENTIM is expanding its market position
through its new subsidiary: in the football national league the clubs Werder
Bremen and 1.FC Köln, amongst others, are to be added as new partners.
CTS EVENTIM and ShowSoft will develop a new interface which enables the ShowSoft
customers to market their range of events via the CTS sales channels advance
booking offices, call centres, ticketing machines and internet in Germany and
Austria. With this take over CTS EVENTIM will secure further software know-how
and will also acquire market leadership in in-house ticketing. With a volume of
more than 22 million ticket sales per annum to date and more than 34 million in
future the group is far and away the market leader in ticket sales. Klaus-Peter
Schulenberg, the board chairman, expects a group turnover of approximately 289
million DM in the current financial year.
