In our Public Disclosure Platform announcement dated December 26, 2023, it was stated that our Company Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji A.Ş. had signed a sales agreement amounting to US$8.6 million with UK-based EOS Climate & Energy for the sale of carbon emission reduction credits from our wind power plants - Hasanoba WPP, Kocalar WPP, Üçpınar WPP, and Denizli WPP - for the years 2021-2026.
Based on the relevant agreement, in addition to the US$1.3 million sale of carbon emission reduction credits for 2021 carried out last year, an additional sale of US$2.6 million for the years 2022-2023 has been completed this year. Thus, the total of carbon emission credit sales made under the said agreement and other sales in 2023 and 2024 has reached $7 million.
With this carbon credit sale, our Company Akfen Renewable Energy continues its activities in line with its environmental, sustainability, and economic contribution goals. The revenue generated from the company's carbon credit sales provides resources for the expansion of its operations in the field of renewable energy.
