The company discloses some of the data related to sustainability for tenants and visitors to whom it renders services in its properties and performs activities and collaborations on supports that might be provided to shareholders with a view to improving those matters. Akasya Mall collaborated with BinBin Scooter in order to reduce carbon footprint by encouraging its visitors to use electric vehicles in 2021 and 2022. A fast charging station was set up in collaboration with E-Şarj and BMW Borusan. Another collaborative project was undertaken with H&M, one of the tenants, in order to place recycling bins at Akasya Mall and Akbatı Mall locations. In 2022, totally 2000 kg products were collected in Akasya and Akbatı malls thanks to “Take Care” project in 2022. Our Malls were the first to receive Green Check Certificate, a certification program developed for verifying and encouraging our green commitments as part of our sustainable business practices. We launched an awarded suggestion system, “I Found Something Different”, to increase awareness and maximize contributions of the employees of our business partners. Having installed water saving batteries in restrooms of the malls, we were able to save 10% water in comparison to 2021. Besides, we replaced all lighting fittings with LED technology in our Malls which allowed Akbatı and Akasya to save 8% electricity in comparison to 2021. A "Sustainability Team" was created to work actively on ESG matters. In 2022, 6 projects were conducted with the help of volunteers.

Akiş REIT became the first company to be awarded the “Equal Woman in Business” Certificate in real estate industry following the independent audit performed in collaboration with the Sustainability Academy and Intertek, a British audit company. 44% of the Board of Directors of Akiş REIT is comprised of female employees. Women comprise 50% of Akiş REIT Senior Management, 33% of Management (officer and manager), and 44% of the overall workforce. The average age of female employees is 39 while the average age of male employees is 40. At Akyaşam, women comprise 41% of the management staff and 25% of the overall workforce. Women account for 38% of the employees of the sub- contractors. The average age of female employees is 39 while the average age of male employees is 36 in those sub-contractors.

Akiş REIT continued to provide its shareholders a number of training and development opportunities especially in relation to equal opportunity in 2022. The company organized Magical Sharing Training Program comprised of 8 modules on effective decision making, problem solving and stress management for Technical and Operations Departments. 46 employees attended the training which took 32 hours. As for the training conducted for consultant teams, totally 16 trainees attended the training which took 45 hours. In 2022, each of the female employees attended 29.3 hours of training. In addition to training and development practices, Akyaşam launched I FOUND SOMETHING DIFFERENT!- SUGGESTION SYSTEM in order to hear the suggestions of sub-contractor employees in July 2022. Also, the company launched the Reverse Mentorship program with a view to empowering young employees who shall be the leaders of the future under which young employees volunteered to inform their managers of their information/expertise and viewpoint as a mentor in 2022.

Akiş REIT implements open door policy for its employees under the Human Resources Policy. The Policy enables each employee to have easy access to the General Manager and senior managers of departments in relation to business tasks and corporate matters. Human resources assume the role of a mediator for settlement of disputes. It benefits from a reconciliatory platform for labor disputes under the Labor Code. As for matters related to labor law, the company outsources the relevant
services. HR and corporate departments meet at certain intervals under “2 Çift Laf Edelim” and “İKahve” programs so that departments may inform HR of their requests. Every two years, Akiş REIT performs an Employee Commitment Survey by means of Great Place to Work (GPTW) which is an independent and contemporary
management tool that uses “Trust Index” to evaluate the status of employers in terms of Reliability, Respect, Equity, Pride and Team Spirit. Based on the feedback given by the employees, the company develops practices which are meant to increase satisfaction and happiness of its employees with the help of the “Volunteer Team of Employees” and “Sponsorship of Managers” according to their areas of focus and priorities. The ultimate goal is to become a “Great Place to Work” by creating a satisfactory environment where employees work with commitment and pride in harmonization and cooperation with their colleagues. The General Perception and Trust Index of the employee is 78% according to the survey conducted in 2021. For comparison, the Average General Perception of All Companies was 75% while the Trust Index was 74% for the companies that took part in the survey in the relevant period. At Akiş REIT, we ascertained the improvement areas and took action to implement them with the help of volunteering teams throughout 2022 according to survey results. (As of 31.12.2022, we have implemented 13 of the 15 actions under 3 main topics.)

The OHS Policy sets forth the principal guiding principles regarding occupational health and safety. OHS activities are performed in line with the requirements of the applicable regulations and Corporate OHS Policy. Akiş REIT and its employees conform to legal regulations and create a healthy and safe working environment in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Policy of the company. Even though the company engaged in slightly dangerous operations in terms of Occupational Health and Safety, it attributes utmost importance to the health and safety of its workforce and remains dedicated to adopt an OHS management philosophy based on zero accident goal in all departments. Where necessary, it promptly makes improvements and ensures that preventive measures, hazard and emergency plans are current and appropriate. It acts in line with the legal regulations while performing all processes. Akyaşam Yönetim Hizmetleri, a subsidiary of the company which manages the malls it owns, performs the relevant processes in line with ISO 45001 Dakks Certification. A Covid-19 Committee has been commissioned to monitor Covid-19 cases and prevent the spread of the virus in the company.

The company organizes social responsibility projects, awareness events and training sessions to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and takes the lead for raising awareness of its shareholders and business partners. Consisting of volunteering employees, 'Akiş Volunteer Team' performs social responsibility projects with the participation of the employees. Donations are made to non-governmental organizations for Special/Significant Days. As part of sustainability efforts, awareness raising posts are created for social media users. In order to promote sustainability, we shared social media posts about several activities organized for the “Earth Day”, “Plastic-free July”, “Forest Week”, “Environment Day” and Sustainability Wheel for “Sustainability Day” in order to raise awareness about the issue. We also use our social media accounts to give information about the sustainability projects conducted by the brands available in our malls. Akiş REIT keeps giving life to forests in collaboration with ecording, an application that develops sustainable and innovative environmental technologies to fight global climate crisis. Having thrown 119,000 seed balls by using ecoDrones, unmanned aerial vehicles, to drop seeds on challenging zones, Akiş REIT aims to contribute to sustainability of ecological life thanks to this initiative. Akbatı held an "Ecological Awareness for Nature Friendly Food" panel to raise awareness about sustainability under its Life Academy project. Akbatı was also home to “Products Made of Recycled Fabrics” exhibition which was held in collaboration with H&M in order to contribute to raising awareness about recycling. Akasya, on the other hand, took action in collaboration with Nivogo in order to promote sustainability by means of personalization workshops on circular economy and advanced recycling. At the same time, the first "Circular Store" in Turkey was opened by Nivogo in Akasya. Akiş REIT also provided its visitors with the opportunity to experience various sustainability projects in collaboration with a number of organizations such as Givin, WWF, Devr-i Daim, and Vahaa as part of its efforts to expand collaborations with sustainability Startups and NGOs in 2022.
