First signs of revival in demand in China: Roth & Rau acquires new orders
worth EUR 14.6 million

Hohenstein-Ernstthal, 2 December 2009 - In the past week Roth & Rau AG has
received three new orders to supply SiNA series antireflective coating
systems worth EUR 14.6 million in total. Delivery of the systems is
scheduled for the second quarter of 2010. The clients are exclusively
Chinese customers. As one of the world's leading equipment providers, Roth

photovoltaics market.

At EUR 9.6 million, the largest single order was placed by Yingli Green
Energy. This solar cell manufacturer ordered specialist equipment to
manufacture a new type of high-efficiency solar cells with a production
capacity of 200 MWp. 'The Yingli order shows that our intensive research
and development activities have enabled us to further boost our innovative
strength. Particularly when it comes to innovative cell concepts and novel
technologies aimed at achieving greater efficiency, we are viewed worldwide
as a competent partner and our orders reflect this', commented Dr. Dietmar
Roth, CEO of Roth & Rau AG.

New orders totalling EUR 106.4 million had been received as of 30 November
2009.
