Sunrise is once again awarded platinum status by EcoVadis and keeps improving in all areas

«Sustainable action is no longer just a «nice thing to have» for companies, but is now increasingly demanded by private customers, business customers and partners. This is also evident in tenders, where sustainability criteria are becoming ever more important,» says André Krause, Chief Executive Officer of Sunrise. «This is why we’re so thrilled that, thanks to the great efforts of all our teams, Sunrise has once again been awarded the EcoVadis platinum medal and has managed to perform even better than last year.»

EcoVadis, a leading provider of sustainability ratings for companies, has once again awarded Sunrise the platinum medal this year. This means Sunrise is still among the top 1 per cent of the more than 150,000 companies around the world that are rated according to this global sustainability standard. Compared to last year, Sunrise improved its overall score by six points to achieve 87 out of the 100 possible points. Improvements were achieved in all four core areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Sunrise sees sustainability as an integral part of its corporate strategy and daily business activities. Its sustainability strategy is based on the pillars of People, Planet, Progress and Governance. By linking sustainability goals with corporate goals and overall remuneration, Sunrise sets clear priorities, such as high employee engagement, a significant reduction in emissions and seamless customer service through digitisation. The in-depth assessments conducted by EcoVadis provide valuable insights into sustainability performance and serve as an important source of inspiration for the targeted development of measures.

EcoVadis assessments are based on internationally recognised standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and various ISO standards. Compliance with these standards is becoming increasingly important, both in tenders in the business customer segment and in active relationship management with business partners. The platinum medal confirms that Sunrise meets these requirements to a high degree.
