Information regarding the first quarter 2009/2010 (as of June 30, 2009)

New Value portfolio companies land prestigious contracts

Several New Value (SIX: NEWN) portfolio companies were awarded prestigious
contracts in the first quarter of the 2009/2010 financial year (as of June
30, 2009). 3S Industries AG delivered special storm-resistant solar modules
to the Klein Matterhorn near Zermatt and was contracted by Bertrand Piccard
to develop a new soldering technology for Solar Impulse, his solar-powered
airplane. Mycosym International AG launched a new product for the lawn care
sector that allows golf course operators to save up to 50% in water
consumption. In addition, Silentsoft AG signed contracts for large
telemetry monitoring systems for the cities of Zurich and Winterthur.

New Value saw a substantial 17% value increase in the first quarter,
primarily as a result of a rebound in the price for shares of 3S Industries
since mid of March 2009. The NAV of its investment portfolio, which is
focused on young Swiss growth companies, increased from CHF 21.76 per share
on March 31, 2009, to CHF 25.46 per share on June 30, 2009.

Between April and June 2009, New Value took part in two growth financing
initiatives for existing portfolio companies: Lubricant producer Natoil AG
completed a CHF 1.06 million capital increase in June, including CHF
150'000 in new cash, along with the conversion of previous loan financing
into capital stock. New Value contributed CHF 90'000 to the capital
increase and converted CHF 0.3 million in loans, thereby increasing its
share in the company from 23.8% to 30.5%. In May 2009, New Value also
purchased additional shares of healthcare software provider QualiLife SA
totaling CHF 0.64 million, increasing its share in the company's capital
stock to 25.1% as planned.

Solar company offers up new innovations
3S Industries delivered its first semi-automatic production line to
Bangalore, India, where the company is currently intensifying its sales
activities. 3S also supplied solar modules for the roof of the Matterhorn
Glacier Paradise Restaurant, built to the latest environmental standards,
on the Klein Matterhorn near Zermatt. Thanks to 3S's highly precise
laminating technology, the modules are guaranteed a long lifespan even
under extreme storm conditions. In addition, 3S was awarded a contract to
develop a new soldering technology for combining solar cells for Bertrand
Piccard's solar airplane project, Solar Impulse.
MX Group, in which Solar Industries AG holds a minority interest, began
producing solar modules in Italy. Plans call for the current semi-automatic
production system to become gradually fully automated. Production
facilities were delivered by 3S, including technical consultation.

Swiss Medical Solution strengthens its management team, Mycosym helps
customers save water, FotoDesk offers lifestyle products and Silentsoft
lands major contracts
Swiss Medical Solution AG, a specialist in self tests for urinary tract
infections, welcomed Dr. Thomas Kaltenbach, a seasoned expert in marketing,
sales and supply chain management, as its new CEO. The company's Board of
Directors also welcomed two new members: new president Marc Neuschwander
(former CEO of Bayer Schweiz) and Dr. Peter Röttger (board member of the
German Diabetics Foundation).
Plant technology firm Mycosym International developed a unique,
mycorrhiza-based technology that increases the water and nutrient intake of
plants and protects them from environmental factors such as drought,
salinity, pollutants and root diseases. During the reporting period,
Mycosym launched a new product for the lawn care and golf course segment
that allows water savings of up to 50% in dry regions.

FotoDesk Group AG, an innovative leader in online photo printing, expanded
its product range with a fine art print and lifestyle product boutique,
including wall tattoos, laptop skins and framed canvas prints. FotoDesk
also launched the world's first photo album software that can be completely
operated online with no downloads. The system offers improved design
options for photo albums, allowing the incorporation of themed content
system as well as faster and more targeted adaptation of products to
customer demands.
Finally, Silentsoft signed contracts in May for the installation of over
1'200 telemetry systems, including major projects in the cities of Zurich
and Winterthur. These systems offer customers significant cost savings
thanks to greatly simplified monitoring of water levels in tank equipment.
