Company willing to defend leadership by further strong investments
YoGiYo and Baedaltong, the Korean subsidiaries of Delivery Hero, took over market leadership in February 2016. Based on Nielson Korean Click data, Yogiyo-Baedaltong aggregated a combined market share of 53% last month, compared to Baedal Minjok’s (BDMJ) market share of 47%. BDMJ’s traffic decreased by 44% compared to its record high in September last year and Yogiyo-Baedaltong combined increased its traffic by 20% in the same time frame.
It turned out to be a huge success that Yogiyo introduced the click-to-call feature in June last year. Furthermore, the company’s recent focus on adding large number of key account restaurants on the platform also led to the high volume acquisitions of new customers. Jewon Na, CEO of YoGiYo and Baedaltong: “We will continue to invest heavily in technical innovation and optimizing the user’s experience for the app. Now that we hold market leadership, we will make the greatest possible efforts to defend it.” Niklas Östberg, CEO of Delivery Hero: “Our Korean team has done a fantastic job building a leading service but there is a lot yet to come. We need to continue investing for the long term and never stop drive innovation.”
