TX Group AG
20 Minuten Group sells shares in Heute and heute.at to co-owners

Zurich, 16 October 2024 – The 20 Minuten Group is selling its shares in the Austrian commuter newspaper Heute (25.5%) and the online portal heute.at (51%). The buyers of these shares are the current partners and co-owners. 20 Minuten is thus completely divesting itself of its holdings in Austria.

The transaction is subject to the approval of the Austrian Federal Competition Authority (Bundeswettbewerbsbehörde) and will be finalised as soon as this is granted. The sale will have a positive one-off effect in the single-digit millions on the consolidated income statement of TX Group. The parties have agreed not to disclose the details of the transaction.

Bernhard Brechbühl, CEO 20 Minuten Group: ‘Heute and heute.at are operating successfully in the Austrian market. Over the past few years, 20 Minuten and Heute have been able to benefit from each other's know-how. However, we will henceforth be focusing on growth projects within our other markets hereafter. We are pleased that our partners and co-owners will be taking over the shares.’
